The tradition of having High Tea began in 1700s and was usually served between 15:00pm and 16:00pm in the afternoon. The word “high” was derived from having the tea standing up or sitting on tall stools. Tea was traditionally served with cakes, scones and even cheese on toast. It eventually became a pass time for the upper class more so than the meal for the working man, allowing ladies and gentlemen the opportunity to have a substantial meal before attending the theatre or playing cards. Courtesy of the British Empire, the tradition of High Tea became a worldwide trend. Following this sumptuous occasion, Endless Horizons Boutique Hotel will now be serving High Tea every Saturday at 3pm.
